Donald T. Critchlow is the author and editor of fifteen books. “The Conservative Ascendancy: How the GOP Right Made Political History” will be released this fall. An anthology on American conspiracy theories, “American Conspiracies Revealed” is in press, and he is working on a large study on the history of Hollywood politics. Critchlow is a professor of history at St. Louis University. He’s taught at a number of universities, including Hong Kong University and Warsaw University.

Professor of Political Science, State University of New York-Albany

Bruce Miroff is professor of political science and Collins Fellow at the State University of New York, Albany. He is the author of numerous books and articles on political leadership, the presidency, and American political theory. His new book is “The Liberals' Moment: the McGovern Insurgency and the Identity Crisis of the Democratic Party.”

Associate Professor of History, University of Southern Mississippi
Founding Director, Center for Black Studies

Curtis Austin's book about the Black Panther Party was published in 2006. Austin has also created an interactive CD-ROM, entitled “Ordinary People Living Extraordinary Lives: The Civil Rights Movement in Mississippi.” The CD can be accessed online at www.usm.edu/crdp/html/cd/start.htm. Austin was invited to attend the Association of Third World Studies’ annual meeting in Taiwan. In addition to codirecting the Oral History Center, conducting his research, and teaching classes in both Hattiesburg and Jamaica, Austin also serves as faculty advisor for two Southern Miss student organizations: the Black Graduate Student Organization and Omega Psi Phi.

Adjunct Professor of Religion and Philosophy, Rollins College

James Armstrong has had a distinguished career in the ministry. He served for a time as President of the National Council of Churches. He was a seminary professor, and has written many books and articles on missions, ethics, and social policy. A frequent speaker, he is best known for his lectures on moral theology and the practice of ministry in today's society. Armstrong is a longtime friend of Senator McGovern.
