Teresa Petrovic is an accomplished business executive with diverse professional experiences. She works in Washington, D.C.

While in college, Teresa was the receptionist for the McGovern for President campaign for more than a year. She took a leave of absence from college to help administer the national headquarters when George McGovern won the Democratic nomination in 1972. She then worked on McGovern’s senate staff for several years. Most recently, Petrovic was director of stewardship and development for Visitation Church in Kansas City, successfully completing a $7 million capital campaign before her decision to re-enter the public policy world. She was one of the organizers of the McGovern reunion events in Washington, D.C. in July.

Mary Fifield, a former journalist, has a wide-ranging background in politics, government and public relations. She has produced headline programming for the major American television networks, including 20/20 and World News Tonight for ABC News, Nightwatch with Charlie Rose for CBS News, and Nightly News for NBC. She also was producer of CBS’s award-winning public affairs program, Face the Nation.

Fifield began her career in political communications as a press aide in the presidential campaign of George McGovern. She was also press secretary to Massachusetts Lt. Gov. Thomas P. O’Neill III during his successful bid for office, and to Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis upon his election to office. Subsequently, she was assistant press secretary to presidential candidate Jimmy Carter.

Fifield formed Mary Fifield Associates in 1995.

Scott Lilly is a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress who writes and does research in a wide range of areas including governance, federal budgeting, national security and the economy. He joined the center in 2004 after 31 years of service with the United States Congress.

He served as clerk and staff director of the House Appropriations Committee, minority staff director of that committee, executive director of the House Democratic Study Group, executive director of the Joint Economic Committee and chief of staff in the office of Congressman David Obey.

Before his service with Congress, Lilly served as director of campaign services for the Democratic National Committee, central states coordinator in the McGovern presidential campaign and as a bill drafter for the Missouri legislature.

He served two years in the U.S. Army and is a graduate of Westminster College in Fulton, Mo. He is also an adjunct professor in the Public Policy Institute at Georgetown University.

Tom Southwick is senior vice president of public relations and government relations for Starz LLC. He is responsible for all public relations, government relations and corporate communications for Starz Entertainment and Starz Media.

Before joining Starz Entertainment, Southwick founded, with the backing of Paul Kagan Associates, the weekly Cable World Magazine (now CableFAX's CableWORLD) in 1988, where he served as publisher and columnist.

From 1981 to 1988, Southwick worked for cable industry trade newspaper, Multichannel News, first as managing editor and later as editor. Before that, he worked as a journalist in Massachusetts and Washington and served three years as press secretary to Sen. Edward M. Kennedy. Southwick, an honors graduate of Harvard College, now lives with his family in Morrison, Colo.
